Running of the Chihuahuas
May 6, 2013
I live in a pretty entertaining neighborhood. It keeps changing. I’m not sure where it’s going to end up, but it’s always fun to meet the neighbors like I did over the weekend at the Second Annual Running of the Chihuahuas. Don’t blink, or you’ll miss the championship race. The event was organized by Paws of Southwest and was held to raise money to build a dog park in our little quadrant of D.C. Given the crowd of hundreds plus the cheering and the yowling, I would say the event was a major success. Southwest D.C. residents are also raising money to build a really nice playground by the library, but I’m thinking toddler racing as a fundraiser is a no-no.

Toddler racing! That’s a great idea! I’m packing my bags and dropping in for a visit if there’s a toddler race.
